Software Defined Infrastructures in Greenfield Data Centers
Network overlays, network function virtualization (NFV) and software defined networking (SDN) are helping to drive the network hardware architectural transformation to enable Software Defined Infrastructures (SDIs). This session will provide details on the Intel vision of the datacenter network, and how it is affecting the development of new technologies and products. Specific focus will cover network hardware capabilities to optimize traffic management and performance of network overlays using VXLAN and NVGRE. Additionally, network virtualization, physical switching and hybrid switching be covered.
Topics include:
- Describe network virtualization using network overlays
- Discuss networking equipment and server configuration requirements for tunnel end-points and gateways
- Discuss what Intel is doing to enable network overlay technology like NVGRE and VXLAN
- Review network virtualization examples of Microsoft* Hyper-V Network Virtualization (HVN) and VMware* vCloud* VXLAN deployments
