ASCO Power Technologies has debuted its new 3-position SERIES 300 Manual Transfer Switch with Integrated Quick Connections  (MTQ). This device provides a means for quickly connecting a portable or temporary generator to a building’s electrical system to provide backup power, or to provide a “backup to the backup” when servicing an off-line engine-generator.

National Electrical Code® Article 700.3(F) requires that a permanent switching means be provided to connect an interim source of secondary power when servicing the sole permanent generator at a regulated facility. For facilities without a permanent backup generator, an MTS with Quick-Connects enables rapid connection of a temporary or portable generator when needed.

The ASCO SERIES 300 MTQ is available in single or 3-phase configurations ranging from 150 to 3000 Amps and up to 600 VAC. It provides a unified UL1008-listed solution and meets NFPA 110 standards for emergency and standby power systems. The SERIES 300 MTQ can handle the extraordinary demands of switching stalled motors and high inrush loads. Its modular design makes it easy to install and maintain, and its rugged construction assures many years of reliable service. An optional accessory provides visual annunciation of switch position, additional auxiliary contacts, an engine start switch, phase rotation monitoring, and an I/O module.
