INTERXION HOLDING NV has announced that Amsio, a leading managed hosting provider, active in the Dutch market since 2000, has chosen Interxion to host the first private cloud environment in Europe based on Microsoft Windows Cloud OS.

The deployment of this Cloud Platform at Interxion’s Dutch Cloud Hub enables Amsio to offer its customers virtual servers based on Windows Server 2012 technology with the highest SLA and application performance. Companies can test the service free of charge on the available test lab, the result of close co-operation with Microsoft, HP, and Interxion.

Ruben van der Zwan, CTO of Amsio said, “We chose the Interxion Cloud Hub as a central point in our network where fast and easy interconnection, computing capacity and storage come together. This location guarantees optimal performance for hybrid cloud solutions. Thanks to this partnership, our customers know exactly who is responsible for the storage of their data and where it is stored. We have noticed that this is becoming increasingly important for companies. In certain industries, such as financial services, companies can even be legally required to store their data in the country where they are located.”

Amsio is the first European service provider that has transformed the idea of Microsoft Cloud OS into a product for the market. The Amsio Cloud Platform offers companies flexibility and scalability, this way they are deploying the required computing capacity and easily adjusting this if necessary. In the Cloud Platform, companies can create their own cloud applications that run on Windows Azure.

"We believe in the power of hybrid cloud infrastructures, partly because this makes new, interesting scenarios possible. Cloud OS makes it possible to scale capacity from local hosters to Windows Azure quickly and easily. We are delighted that Amsio is introducing the innovative capabilities of the Cloud OS and making it easily accessible to customers," said Michel N'guettia, Business Group Lead Server and Tools at Microsoft Netherlands.

“At Interxion, we believe that enterprises take a phased migration approach towards cloud computing solutions, and during this process will build and manage hybrid solutions. Amsio enables its customers to trial such a hybrid solution based on the latest Microsoft Cloud OS in a safe, reliable and best connected environment. The Interxion data center brings together the community of service providers, system integrators and enterprises who want to interconnect at this Cloud Hub, and bridge their dedicated IT environments with private and public cloud services,” said Vincent in 't Veld, director of marketing and business development, for Interxion’s Cloud Segment.
