DatacenterDynamics At CeBIT Set For March 16-20, 2015
Data center industry threatened by growing skills shortage.
Members of the data center industry are struggling to find and develop the skills that will allow them to meet the rapidly-changing demands of a global digital economy, DatacenterDynamics warned recently. Without adequate understanding of these trends and investment in critical professional development, the data center industry will simply fail to keep up with the emerging data storage needs of ever more agile, digital and mobile enterprises.
According to industry analyst Gartner, an overwhelming 80% of firms are expected to find their growth held back by 2016 due to a lack of new data center skills1; while the McKinsey Global Institute predicts a global shortage of 1.5 million skilled and qualified data center managers as early as 2015.
