U.S. Army Selects Power Analytics’ Software for New Energy and Environmental Lab
The U. S. Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) System Simulation and Development Directorate (SSDD) recently selected Power Analytics Corporation’s Paladin DesignBase software for their new energy and environment systems laboratory in Huntsville, AL. The DesignBase software will be used to design and optimize smart microgrid/command centers for energy surety and reliability and, most importantly, save warfighters’ lives by reducing the fuel consumption of diesel generators used to provide energy on the battlefield.
The Army’s SSDD laboratory will utilize the same software used by the Center for Electromechanics at the University of Texas at Austin for smart grid research. The software, Paladin DesignBase, creates a detailed knowledge base of all the components, processes, and performance specifications of an entire electrical distribution system.
