Falcon Electric, Inc. announced the next product in its series of scalable protection for growing automated laboratories. The FN series double-conversion on-line uninterruptible power supply (UPS) rack-mount version gives users the choice of scaling from 5 to 40-kVA with 3U-high transformer modules and compact 2U and 3U modules for power and batteries. In addition, Falcon offers an optional long-life battery rated to last 10 years (twice the life of the standard 5-year battery). This upgrade will give users that ability to significantly reduce the cost and time to maintain this UPS. The parallel or N+1 redundant UPS are designed to meet the demands of IT, laboratory, and industrial infrastructures with a scalable platform and N+1 redundancy. The FN Series rack-mount models achieve many technical milestones including a faster processor utilizing digital signal processing (DSP) technology, thereby improving performance, capability, and reliability. An FN system can be configured using individual 5, 6, or 10-kVA models, providing up to 20, 24, and 40-kVA capacity. For N+1 redundant operation, the capacity is 15, 18, and 30 kVA.
