The U.S. Department of Energy's Smarter Small Buildings Campaign is spotlighting three organizations for their innovative approaches to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) controls in small to medium-sized commercial buildings.

The acquisition marks the third for ACS, demonstrating the company's aggressive pursuit of opportunities to address the unique HVAC needs of mission-critical applications.

After a four-or five-year hiatus, I returned to the AHR Expo—the HVACR industry’s most popular event. Per usual, the aisles of the show floor were filled with buzzwords, and among those that topped the list was “uptime.”

Evaporative cooling towers play an important role in green buildings by significantly reducing energy consumption when they supplement or replace traditional air conditioning systems, thereby reducing carbon footprint and operating costs. 

Single compressors are available from 20 to 40 tons of refrigeration and larger capacities are available in manifolded configurations to offer enhanced system design flexibility.
