Launched in 2014, Green Lease Leaders sets national standards for what constitutes a green lease while recognizing property owners and their customers who modernize their leases to spur collaborative action on energy efficiency, cost-savings, air quality, and sustainability in buildings. Aligned
While stay-at-home orders have clearly highlighted just how much our society depends on our digital infrastructure, it’s important not to let the critically of the industry overshadow the effect it has on the environment.
At a time when malicious threats persist and technology continues to evolve, those who own or run data centers need greater assurance that the systems and software deployed provide the best protection against outside attacks.
ASHRAE, a global nonprofit membership organization with more than 57,000 members in more than 130 countries worldwide, has been leading the engineering and development of facility standards and guidelines for 120-plus years.
Achieve energy efficiency while avoiding potential reliability issues

ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 90.4-2019, Energy Standard for Data Centers, establishes the minimum energy-efficiency requirements for the design and operation of data centers, with special consideration to their unique load requirements compared to other buildings.
It has been almost three years since the ASHRAE 90.4 Energy Standard for Data Centers was finalized and went into effect in 2016, yet even today, many in the data center industry are not fully aware of its existence or its implications.
The critical facilities industry relies on industry standards to establish the minimum requirements necessary to design, build, and operate critical sites. Some of these standards get adopted by federal, state, and local governments through legislation as enforceable codes.
On Demand In the U.S., there are multiple overlapping data center energy efficiency metrics and standards, such as ASHRAE, Energy Star, and The Green Grid, to name a few. While they are similar in their overall intent, they differ in their terminologies, methodologies, and applications.
