H5 Data Centers announced the addition of Hurricane Electric to its downtown Seattle data center at 1000 Denny Way.

To paraphrase Oscar Mayer, “Everybody doesn’t like something, but nobody likes RFPs.”

This next column addresses the selection of a data center colocation/wholesale provider. This selection becomes the basis of comparison between building one’s own data center and outsourcing to a data center provider.

The data center provider was founded by Chris Crosby, a former Digital Realty senior executive.

Concerns about supply are lower in more developed data center markets, which are adapted to an environment of rising energy costs, local distribution problems, and the prospect of usage regulation.
