Saving Money with Smart Data Center Design
By using a “UPS catcher system,” data centers can get great levels of redundancy without the costs that come with a 2N system. A traditional catcher system—an unloaded UPS in reserve that feeds the bypass of primary UPSs—usually comes in a fixed ratio of primary UPSs to catcher UPS not exceeding 3:1. But, there’s a potential for stranded redundancy if intelligent operation isn’t incorporated. In response to this weakness, consider a new smart catcher design.
In this webcast, we will discuss:
- What catcher systems are and how they work
- Saving money with new smart design options
- How scalability and expansion fit into the design
- Operational benefits
