Scaling to 400G – The Need for Speed
As transmission speeds increase in data center and enterprise networks, it becomes increasingly important to adopt a cabling-infrastructure strategy that considers multiple generations of network evolution. Deploying a cabling system that can support current and future needs requires thoughtful planning, and also requires an approach that is both robust and flexible.
This webinar will describe in detail how to plan and implement a fiber-optic cabling infrastructure that supports port breakout for today’s applications. Additionally, it will explain how and why a carefully crafted fiber cabling system will be able to support not only today’s port-breakout systems, but also the next generation of “native” network speeds. When properly specified, designed and implemented, a parallel-optic cabling infrastructure that handles 10, 40, 100 -Gbit-per-second-per-lane port breakouts today, also will sufficiently support the 400-Gbit-per-second-per-lane transmission protocols that currently are in development.
