Microway has announced that bleeding-edge 2nd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors (“Cascade Lake-SP”) are now shipping in volume across all Microway Xeon offerings, including next-generation NumberSmasher™ clusters, servers, and WhisperStations.
Clients are typically, and understandably, focused upon price when evaluating proposals for the purchase of electric power from a supplier other than the local electric utility. However, price is only one of several considerations that an edge data center (EDC) purchaser should consider.
In my last column, “Market Insanity,” I wrote about some of the challenges the industry is undergoing in the hyperscale space. Challenges include shortage of resources in both design/construction as well as in the operations sector.
The move is expected to help state attract cutting edge business.

Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb has formally signed the Indiana Data Center Taxation Incentive at an official signing ceremony in Indianapolis, the result of a collaborative effort between Digital Crossroads Data Center and other leading technology businesses and organizations.
Customers can now access KsFiberNet from data centers in Kansas City.

Kansas Fiber Network, LLC (KsFiberNet), has announced a 100-mile network expansion of its fiber network, extending the company’s presence into two TierPoint data centers; 14500 West 105th Street, Lenexa, KS and 322 E. Archer Street, Tulsa, OK.
This collaboration will enable the two companies to deliver greater global reach to fixed line and MNOs via their respective IPX platforms.
