Lithium-Ion (li-ion) batteries are very popular as a strong, portable power source, but they can be a fire hazard. New Rack Fire Protect (RFP) buildings from Denios provide storage for lithium-ion (li-ion) batteries. Containment minimizes the risk of fire from damaged, malfunctioning, or deep discharged batteries spreading within the workplace and possibly injuring employees.
RFP fire-rated buildings provide safe and legally compliant storage of flammable and corrosive chemicals and materials. They also provide safe storage of lithium-ion batteries. Adjustable racking provides the flexibility to store batteries of many shapes and sizes. Single or double-tiered designs keep products organized and correctly separated. RFP buildings are built in accordance with FM Approval 6049, NFPA, OSHA, EPA-CFR 40, NBCC, NFCC and ETA/21/0642. Bi-directional fire rating provides two-hour fire protection. They can be placed inside or outside (subject to distance requirements), making RFP ideal for the storage of batteries, as well as sealed and closed containers of flammable and water-polluting substances.
