5000 Series engines are equipped with an integrated electronic control modulator (ECM) and sensor pack that easily integrates with existing telematic ecosystems to simplify adoption and deployment. The ECM and sensor pack work with active derate software to prevent faults and improve reliability. The whole package provides a single-point customer interface to further simplify deployment. A patent pending cylinder cutout and cranking software strategy improves cold start and light load running capabilities. The standard cooling system is designed to support operation in ambient temperatures up to 50°C without derating. The 5000 Series design is based on a cylinder-centric modular concept in which the cylinder head, rocker box, rocker cover, piston, etc., are all the same. This allows 5000 Series engines to be easily upsized or downsized by simply changing the number of cylinders and using an appropriate crankshaft and camshaft.
