Conrad Energy announced the first in a series of acquisitions to complement its growing organic battery pipeline, which stands at over 250 MW.

The 24-MW battery project in Blackpool was acquired from Power Initiatives, and, with the grid connection and planning consent secured, construction should commence in the autumn.

Conrad Energy has placed facilitating the transition to a low carbon economy at the center of its business strategy with a goal of becoming a full-service power provider. Battery storage assets are key to supporting the grid and enabling the growth of renewable power as the U.K. works toward achieving its target of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.

Also supporting the energy transition, Conrad Energy provides third party route-to-market services for similar plants and renewable power projects. The business also supplies commercial and industrial customers with flexible energy solutions from on-site generation as well as competitive and tailored supply contracts.
