HOUSTON — Satterfield & Pontikes Construction appointed Kevin O’Brien as vice president to lead its newly established Mission Critical Center of Excellence (COE).

The addition of this COE, along with those in health care and multifamily, signals the company’s intent to diversify the scope of its existing portfolio as a means to increase market share and add value. The new COEs will complement the company’s existing Education and Aviation Centers of Excellence.

With more than 30 years of mission critical engineering and construction experience, O’Brien joins S&P from Turner & Townsend, where he served as a director for the last two years.  Previously, he served as the director of mission critical for Gilbane Inc. and for Structuretone Mission Critical.  O’Brien has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida.

“Kevin is a terrific addition to our leadership team,” said Clay Morel, S&P’s president.  “The establishment of the Mission Critical COE at S&P is a formal acknowledgement of this fast-growing segment of our industry.   Under Kevin’s management, we are confident that we will continue to successfully grow this area of our business.”
