ZincFive introduced the first product in its BC Series product portfolio, the ZincFive UPS Battery Cabinet 494V/265kWb. This nickel-zinc battery energy storage solution (BESS) features backward and forward compatibility with megawatt class UPS inverters. Compatible with most 480 VDC UPS systems, the cabinet is a drop-in replacement for battery storage systems in both new and existing UPS installations. It provides long operating life, a small footprint, and minimal required battery maintenance routines, delivering a lower total cost of ownership and a safe, sustainable option for data centers. UL testing at the battery cell level has shown that ZincFive’s nickel-zinc batteries do not exhibit thermal runaway, providing users with a guarantee of operational safety. Nickel-zinc batteries can be fully recycled with existing recycling processes and have very attractive metals reclaim economics.
