WAUKEGAN, Ill.  — Ametek Powervar announced its new strategic direction designed to increase customer focus and satisfaction, streamline service delivery, and meet growing demand.

Powervar has made a significant investment in a new direct sales channel to more effectively serve its customer base and deliver a factory direct experience to all customers. In response to growing needs from its customers, Powervar has introduced a new sales structure and expanded sales team to focus on giving each customer the support and communication they need to build long-term partnerships and grow business together.

“Powervar has always been known for industry leading innovation and quality in our products; now it’s time we up our game to ensure our customer experience is second to none,” said Chris Walsh, director of global sales, Powervar. “The team we have put together has a primary responsibility to enhance our customer relationships and garner a better understanding of how we can ensure both businesses succeed together.”

Under the new structure, Rich O’Brien has been appointed director of North American sales. O’Brien will be responsible for driving Powervar’s sales strategies, leading the sales team, and accelerating

market growth throughout the company’s North American markets. He and his team will build working relationships with existing and new Powervar customers to drive business from the ground up and provide continuous support to customers. O’Brien comes to the Powervar team from sister company SurgeX, where he held the position of national sales manager.

To round out the North American team, Mike Chmura, a long-tenured Powervar sales manager, has been appointed director of sales for national accounts. Chmura and his team will be dedicated to servicing the unique needs of Powervar’s global partners and will work hand in hand with the regional managers and O’Brien to ensure the best customer experience at all levels of the organization.

Additionally, Powervar has hired of Badre Lhour and Kamil Niwiadomoski. Lhour will take on the role of sales engineer and will fulfill a consultative sales role, assessing power quality needs, determining solution requirements, and providing technical support. Niewiadmoski will be supporting Powervar’s sales and service operations from the U.K. office.

All teams will be under the direction of Chris Walsh, director of global sales. With his new team, Walsh will continue to ensure a coordinated effort amongst all sales team members and drive strategic sales globally.
