We started the Mission Critical Magazine Facility Manager of the Year contest in 2015 by asking readers to nominate facility managers for much needed recognition who demonstrate proficiency in three areas: efficiency, innovation, and management. Since then, we have honored past winners, Matt Gleason of CoreSite, Daryl Hoelscher of Digital Realty, Matt Spencer of Cologix, and Ed Dirnberger. We have also recognized runners-up Jim Serafin of the Computational Facilities Complex (CFC) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory; Dan Moore of Northeast Region, CyrusOne; Doug Harding of Digital Realty; and Fred Burchi of Aligned Energy.
