Panduit Corp. has announced that the International Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS) recently recognized Dr. Jose Castro, manager of Optical Research for Panduit, with its INCITS Technical Excellence Award. Dr. Castro was recognized for his significant technical contributions to the Fibre Channel committee during the development of the latest Gen 7 Fibre Channel standard (FC-PI-7) that defines serial transmission speeds of 64 Gb/s.

INCITS is the central U.S. forum dedicated to creating technology standards for the next generation of innovation. INCITS members combine their expertise to create the building blocks for globally transformative technologies. Since 1992, the INCITS Awards Program has provided an opportunity for the INCITS community to acknowledge and recognize those participants that have provided significant achievements and dedication to the standards development activities.

“We are thrilled that Jose was recognized by his peers for his outstanding technical contributions within the INCITS Fibre Channel standard development committee,” said Brett Lane, chief technology officer, Panduit. “Innovation is such an important part of Panduit’s heritage, and having one of our own receive this prestigious award from an organization that advocates for global innovation is truly meaningful.”
