Battcon will host its 23rd annual conference and trade show in Orlando, Florida, April 23-26 at the Orlando World Center Marriott. The conference provides an intense learning experience of workshops and open discussions geared to utility, data center and telecom professionals working in mission critical facilities.

Battcon provides audiences access to the latest trends and expert insight from data center, utility and telecom professionals. In addition to the conference, pre-conference workshops will be held covering battery basics, advanced techniques, VRLA and lithium-ion, and NERC.

New in 2019 are workshop panels on telecom power architecture, a discussion on why UPS backup times are trending to shorter durations, when to replace DC plants, and a discussion on how NFPA 855 safety codes will impact the battery industry and users.

“Batteries are notoriously the weak link in any power system. The information shared at this conference gives battery professionals the knowledge to beat these odds and improve battery availability and safety,” said Curtis Ashton, Battcon technical committee board member, and director of training for American Power Systems (a Deka Services subsidiary of East Penn). “Battcon provides a forum for us to discuss issues facing the industry, and to share best practices and innovative ideas that will make our jobs easier and our batteries more available.”
