Vertiv has introduced power and rack products to meet the unique challenges of the network edge, including the need for rapid deployment, remote monitoring and management, and end-to-end service. These products include the Vertiv™ Liebert® PSI5 uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system, the Vertiv™ VR rack, and Vertiv™ rack power distribution units (rack PDUs) with features to meet the needs of many edge sites. All products will be stocked in North America for quicker availability to help speed deployments.

The launch of these products further expands the Vertiv portfolio of edge solutions. The breadth of product and service choices is critical at the edge, where IT needs may be different from site to site and constantly evolving. A single vendor partner that can provide end-to-end infrastructure solutions and support presents strong value to companies that require edge deployment, but do not have the resources or expertise to sustain this business model.

The Vertiv Liebert PSI5 high performance, line-interactive UPS joins the Vertiv portfolio of rack/tower configurable UPS. This single-phase UPS system is designed for the small spaces and high rack power densities common at the edge. The 2U UPS can be remotely monitored and controlled, has multiple options to meet runtime requirements, and is available with the optional Vertiv Power Assurance Package - a lifecycle support plan that includes installation and startup, on-site service, remote oversight and a 5-year protection plan.

The Vertiv VR rack is a robust and flexible rack solution that allows for rapid deployment. Eight standard sizes are available, all featuring a frame design that delivers about 2.5 in. of additional useable depth compared to similar sized racks, for ease of installation and maintenance of critical equipment. The rack is complemented by a variety of tool-less accessories to help speed deployment and facilitate rack management.

The new Vertiv rack PDUs are available in basic and intelligent models, stocked for rapid delivery. Intelligent models can monitor input power to plus or -1% accuracy, in addition to standard readings including amps, volts, watts, kWh and power factor. Switched models are available with the ability to monitor and control input power at each outlet, hot swappable modules to allow rapid change in the field, and patented U-lock receptacles that lock any cord in place to eliminate unintentional disconnection are among other notable features. All models have the industry’s best  5-year warranty, when registered within 120 days of purchase, and may also be supported by the Vertiv Distribution Assurance Package lifecycle support, which includes startup, installation, maintenance, repair, emergency response and other features.
