EdgeConneX® has announced a partnership with Colt Technology Services, a leader in enabling customers’ digital transformation through agile and on-demand, high bandwidth solutions. The partnership will see the Colt IQ Network connect into several of EdgeConneX’s facilities, beginning with their Amsterdam Edge Data Center® (EDC). This will enable Colt to address the growing local and global demands for connectivity at the edge.

“Colt will be an excellent partner in our Internet ecosystem and our customers will receive access to an expansive network of key aggregation points around the world, providing a new level of fiber connectivity unlike anything previously available,” explains Dick Theunissen, managing director EMEA, EdgeConneX. “We are excited to welcome Colt into our Amsterdam EDC initially and look forward to extending this partnership into other Edge locations so that we can further our mission of delivering advanced connectivity at the Edge of the network across the globe.”

The extensive Colt IQ Network covers key global cloud aggregation points with multiple 100Gbps transatlantic and transpacific connections, in addition to 100Gbps links in the Asia-Pacific region. The Colt IQ Network is distributed across more than 850 data centers and carrier hotels and over 26,000 on-net buildings around the world, providing high quality service across four continents and 28 countries to support critical technology and telecommunications services for global businesses.

The Amsterdam EdgeConneX EDC has been purpose-built and precisely located in order to provide a secure colocation facility for customers wishing to deliver content and applications to local market consumers with the lowest possible latency. Partnering with regional network and cable operators, the carrier neutral facility guarantees the shortest and fastest routes for delivering content to local market subscribers and Internet customers.

“Colt’s customer-oriented strategy focuses on delivering agile, high bandwidth services in key business and digital hubs around the world,” comments Andrew Edison, vice president, Wholesale at Colt. “Global bandwidth requirements are continuing to explode, driven by a multitude of factors such as the sheer appetite for content as well as the data produced by the Internet of Things. A partnership such as this allows Colt to accelerate our ambition of being the leader in enabling our customers’ digital transformation by delivering tailored connectivity solutions that meet the growing needs of multinational organizations today.”
