FiberLight, LLC has announced a network expansion project to enhance fiber connectivity between Washington, D.C., and the Ashburn, Virginia area. This new construction will satisfy the growing demand for additional capacity to the Northern Virginia and D.C. metro area by augmenting and supplementing FiberLight’s current network reach.
When completed, this new fiber network overbuild will enable FiberLight to provide customers with diverse connectivity and enhanced options to reach the world’s largest concentration of data centers in Ashburn, known as Data Center Alley. With this new fiber availability, enterprises, carriers, partners, government agencies and content companies can utilize this path for regional connectivity, bypassing congested existing fiber routes. In addition, organizations with growing bandwidth requirements will benefit from this added capacity, meeting their need for additional dark fiber networks and Ethernet availability in support cloud enablement. FiberLight continues to focus on providing critical fiber infrastructure, including build-to-suit optical and dark fiber solutions, with a particular focus on data center to data center connectivity.
