Datapipe Named Alibaba Cloud Global Managed Service Provider
Global organisations can now use Datapipe’s cloud expertise to grow their business inside and outside China on Alibaba Cloud.
Datapipe has been named a global managed service provider (MSP) partner of Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Alibaba Group. Global organisations entering China and Chinese organisations venturing abroad can now rely on Datapipe’s expertise in designing, building, and managing best-practice Alibaba Cloud environments.
Under the partnership, Alibaba Cloud customers can look to Datapipe to plan, build and run their cloud environments to ensure fast, secure, and compliant global expansion strategies. Datapipe will provide migration, management, and security of Alibaba Cloud solutions for computing, storage, database, CDN, and big data.
“As a pioneer in managed cloud services, the addition of Alibaba Cloud to Datapipe’s supported platforms and service capabilities was a natural step. We look forward to working closely with Alibaba Cloud to help drive the global adoption of best practice enterprise cloud solutions,” said Colin Chan, vice president of Asia, Datapipe.
“We’re pleased to welcome Datapipe as our global managed service provider partner. Datapipe’s experience in managing cloud environments for customers around the globe makes them well-positioned to help drive Alibaba Cloud deployments for customers in both China and overseas,” Unique Song, director of Global Marketplace Alliances Program, Alibaba Cloud.
China-based Joyful Journey Travel is Datapipe’s first managed Alibaba Cloud client and is the first company to provide financial services to travellers in China. Joyful Journey Travel was looking to deploy a completely elastic infrastructure for their services to allow them to quickly and easily grow into new regions as they on-board more customers. Their biggest concern was security, specifically how to ensure their platform was robust enough to secure customer and financial data — a key criteria for any financial services organisation.
Datapipe’s team worked with Joyful Journey Travel to develop a solution based on high-performing Alibaba Cloud services, including Elastic Computer Service instances, AsparaDB for Relationship Database Systems and Alibaba’s Cloud based CDN.
“Datapipe understood our requirements from the very start. We knew we wanted to move into the cloud but we didn’t know how to develop and launch a best-practice cloud environment. Datapipe designed a solution on Alibaba Cloud, and then migrated and began managing our cloud solution. We can now scale our operations effortlessly and our IT team is focussed on building better products instead of maintaining and managing our systems,” said Huang Gangwei, chief executive officer, Joyful Journey Travel.
