Skyscape Cloud Services Limited has announced that it has won the Cloud Provider Innovation of the Year award at the UK IT Industry Awards 2014, which took place last night in London and was attended by over 1,300 representatives from across the UK computer industry.

The UK IT Industry Awards, which are run by Computing and the British Computing Society (BCS) are well respected in the computing world and are renowned for honouring the most beneficial and impressive work achieved by those in the technology sector.  The awards focus on the contribution of individuals, projects, organisations and technologies that have excelled in the use, development and deployment of IT in the past 12 months.

"It is a great honour to have been awarded Cloud Provider Innovation of the Year at the 2014 UK IT Industry Awards," said Simon Hansford, CTO of Skyscape Cloud Services.  "This latest win recognises our ongoing commitment to disrupting the public sector IT market with cost-effective high-quality and innovative cloud services, which ultimately deliver better value to UK citizens and tax payers."

Earlier this year, Skyscape was named a "Cool Vendor" by analyst firm, Gartner. It was also awarded a Digital Leaders 100 Award, winning the ‘Industry' category and claiming tenth overall position, and was announced as the winner of the Pathfinder 20 index of the UK's most exciting emerging technology companies.

"It has certainly been an exciting year for our rapidly growing business," continued Hansford.  "As we look ahead to 2015 and the upcoming launch of G-Cloud 6, we look forward to continuing to deliver innovative and disruptive services to the UK public sector market."
