This article was originally posted “Data Center Platform from Cloudistics®” from Cloud Strategy Magazine. has announced that it has been positioned by Gartner Inc., in the Challengers quadrant of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud-Enabled Managed Hosting, Europe, 2014.

Gartner describes this new Magic Quadrant as: "Cloud-enabled managed hosting brings cloudlike consumption and provisioning attributes to the traditional managed hosting market in Europe. This is a new evolution of a mature market, with a wide variety of vendor offerings and capabilities, so infrastructure managers must choose with care." Additionally, Gartner states that "the provider must also supply other managed and professional services relating to the deployment and operation of the infrastructure such as security services, backup, load balancing, and optional application management for database and middleware."

Commenting on the announcement, Stuart Bonell, CTO, Attenda says, "We are delighted to be recognised by Gartner as a challenger in cloud-enabled managed hosting; we believe this reinforces the strength and depth of our client engagement and our focus on delivering successful business outcomes for our clients."

Oliver Presland, director of Service Strategy, Attenda adds, "We are seeing more and more of our clients assessing the distribution of existing and new workloads across hybrid architectures. We are well positioned to advise and guide them on their hybrid computing journey; and will continue to expand our services to provide new capabilities that deliver on our broad vision."

Attenda's service strategy recognises that provisioning hybrid platforms for business critical IT requires business-class service levels. A key component is the direct connection of its London-edge data centres to public clouds, removing the uncertainty of Internet connectivity and performance. Today, Attenda offers multi-tenant, dedicated and self-service cloud options within its data centre estate; with a two year track record of delivering managed services for Amazon Web Services (AWS), together with other strategic partnerships for specialist applications and commodity IaaS.

Presland concludes, "We feel our latest Gartner Magic Quadrant positioning validates our service strategy, with our customised approach that enables us to be extremely flexible to individual client requirements, yet taking advantage of the economies of scale in automating the monitoring and management of complex hybrid architectures."
