Carpathia and Equinix have announced the Starter Kit for Microsoft Azure. Starter Kit for Microsoft Azure is a hybrid cloud offering that allows enterprises direct access to the Microsoft Azure public cloud via Carpathia-managed platforms and the Equinix Cloud Exchange, which enables companies to meet stringent security requirements and industry standards such as HIPAA, SOX and GLBA.

"Businesses and federal agencies of all sizes are struggling with how to balance strict security and compliance requirements with the instant access, scale, and cost benefits of public cloud," said Dave Stinson, Vice President of Sales, Carpathia. "The Starter Kit for Microsoft Azure relieves this burden by offering customers the best of private and public resources in a turnkey hybrid cloud solution that includes a secure private environment for running mission critical applications and data, and direct bandwidth for low latency access to Microsoft Azure."

The Starter Kit for Microsoft Azure provides high-speed, direct access to Microsoft Azure via Carpathia-managed platforms and the Equinix Cloud Exchange, located in Equinix International Business Exchange™ (IBX®) data centers. The Equinix Cloud Exchange is an advanced interconnection solution that enables on-demand access to multiple clouds and multiple networks. By leveraging the Equinix Cloud Exchange, the Starter Kit for Microsoft Azure's hybrid cloud model offers improved security, better control, improved performance and higher throughput versus connecting through the public Internet. The differentiated Starter Kit for Microsoft Azure architecture is suited for a variety of high performance workloads and applications including compliant solutions, data analytics, business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR), as well as development and testing.

Carpathia is collaborating with long-time partner Equinix to deliver the Starter Kit for Microsoft Azure solution to enterprise and government customers. For the past 10 years, the two companies have enabled more than 200 organizations worldwide to deploy colocation, managed services, and cloud solutions in a secure, compliant environment that meets stringent requirements and prevents the risk of data loss or privacy breaches.

"We are pleased to be partnering with Carpathia to deliver the Starter Kit for Microsoft Azure hybrid cloud offering," said Pete Hayes, chief sales officer, Equinix. "By combining our advanced interconnection solution and data center facilities that are well recognized for security and federal compliance, with Carpathia's advanced platform management capabilities, customers can cost-effectively manage their IT infrastructure and more quickly reap the benefits of the cloud."

In addition to the launch of the Starter Kit for Microsoft Azure, Carpathia was selected in June by Microsoft to join the Microsoft Azure Circle Partner program, a group of specialized Microsoft partner organizations that provide deployment planning services for organizations interested in moving to the cloud utilizing Microsoft Azure.
