Venyu has announced Turner Industries Group, LLC is experiencing significant cost and efficiency savings utilizing the company’s data center colocation offering. During the course of its near decade-long Venyu relationship, Turner realized significant savings in new data center infrastructure costs by leveraging Venyu’s services.

Headquartered in Baton Rouge, Turner delivers a single-vendor solution for heavy industrial construction, maintenance, fabrication, equipment, and heavy hauling. For more than 50 years, the company built a reputation as a world-class industrial contractor based on safety, integrity, reliability, and project execution. With this in mind, Turner counts on the reliability of its data center to drive all essential business applications.

Initially, the company hosted its own data center within their corporate headquarters, consisting of eight to ten server racks and systems that included power and cooling. As Turner grew, it found the infrastructure could not keep pace with the business and had concerns sizing a data center expansion with the cyclicality of the construction business.

“We initially turned to Venyu for Disaster Recovery co-location services,” said Paul Plauche, Turner Industries. However, as time went on we realized that our data center just wasn’t flexible enough to meet business requirements. That’s when we turned to Venyu to become our primary data center colocation provider so we could meet the demands of the business.”

Over time the company transitioned all elements of its production data center to Venyu’s commercial-grade infrastructure in Baton Rouge. This main co-location site provides the highest-levels of reliability for core business applications. High capacity and redundancy ensures minimal disruption to project work.

In the end, Turner realized significant savings in new data center infrastructure costs with their investment in Venyu services. Additionally, Venyu’s redundancy and reliability ensured the company weathered natural disasters — resulting in zero disruption to business applications.

Plauche concluded, “Quite simply, Venyu reduces the headache of managing infrastructure so IT can focus on projects and growing the services offered to business units we serve today.”
