Cristie Software has announced the launch of SBMR to the market, a bare machine recovery solution designed to recover directly from Commvault’s Simpana without requiring any additional backup.

SBMR will expand Cristie’s existing bare machine recovery product suite which currently includes NBMR for EMC Networker, ABMR for EMC Avamar and TBMR for IBM TSM. With this latest addition Cristie Software now provides BMR solutions for three of the four main players in the market for enterprise backup software.

The software provides fast, reliable and highly automated backup, recovery and migration solutions for Windows, Linux and other Unix machines. All Cristie BMR products recover operating system and applications to the original hardware, to dissimilar hardware or to virtual or cloud machines and recoveries are normally completed in less than 10 minutes.

Ian Cameron, CEO said, “ We are delighted to be able to offer this additional capability for our BMR product suite.  Many of our largest customers use mixed backup technologies in different divisions of their organization and we can now provide a single solution with a common interface to provide recoveries from TSM, Networker, Avamar and Simpana.”
