The company is opening the first Edge Data Center® in Buenos Aires.
EdgeConneX® has announced its first Edge Data Center® (EDC) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Together with the Argentina Investment and Trade Promotion Agency (AAICI), telecommunications service provider, Silica Networks, and an extensive network of ecosystem and peering partners, this new EDC will provide underserved regions in South America with high-quality, low-latency content delivery, cloud access and international interconnectivity in an N+1 and carrier neutral facility.
The multi-tenant EDC will be located at Parque Industrial Pilar, one of the largest industrial districts in South America, which serves as the hub to hundreds of national and multinational companies. While developing their highly-interconnected facility, EdgeConneX has built a strong ecosystem of industry partners that will offer services from the Buenos Aires EDC. In addition to Silica Networks, this ecosystem includes Claro Argentina, Internexa, IPLAN, Metrotel, Telecom Argentina, and access to regional Internet exchanges.
