F5 Networks has announced the addition of Steve McMillan to its leadership team as executive vice president of global services, reporting to the CEO. In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing the company’s worldwide services organization, including support, consulting, and associated functions. Officially starting October 9, McMillan will be based at F5’s Seattle headquarters.

“As customers consume IT services in a growing number of ways, F5’s comprehensive service capabilities continue to set us apart,” said François Locoh-Donou, president and CEO, F5. “Steve is a tremendous addition to our executive team, and we’re excited to welcome a global leader with his extensive experience overseeing cloud and managed services organizations.”

McMillan brings 25 years of industry experience to his role at F5, with a strong background in global services management. Most recently, he was senior vice president, customer success and managed cloud services at Oracle, where he developed, oversaw, and expanded a customer success organization focused on the company’s strategic SaaS portfolio.

“Given its significant partnerships with both IBM and Oracle, I’ve had many opportunities to learn more about F5 over the years,” said Steve McMillan. “I’m looking forward to collaborating with the team here and applying my skills to further build out the world-class services portfolio offered by F5.”

Prior to joining Oracle, McMillan spent 19 years at IBM, where he held many leadership roles focused on global managed services, consulting, and IT. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and Computer Science from Aston University. This appointment follows the previous announcement that long-time F5 executive Julian Eames is retiring with the close of the 2017 fiscal year.
