Last month, I had the pleasure of attending the 2017 7x24 Exchange Spring Conference in Orlando. The theme was “The Challenge of Change
— End-to-End Reliability: Mission Critical Facilities.” The event featured industry leading speakers such as Jim Coe of Syska Hennessy, Jack Pouchet and JP Valiulis of Vertiv, and Keith Klesner of Uptime to name just a few. Check out Mission Critical’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/MissionCritical for videos taken during the event. We also posted photos of the event on our website at www.missioncriticalmagazine.com. The Fall 2017 7x24 Exchange Conference will be held Oct 15-18, 2017 at JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix.

PARADIGM SHIFT

During the conference I had the opportunity to interview Steve Hambruch, VP of global technical operations, TechXact Group, and chairman of the Technical Standards Committee, International Data Center Authority (IDCA); Dikran Kechichian, chief consultant, auditor and lecturer, TechXact Group, and senior member of standards committee, IDCA; and Mehdi Paryavi, president, TechXact Group, and chairman, IDCA after their presentation titled, “The Data Center Industry’s Paradigm Shift.” The IDCA was formed in May 2011 “to streamline, structure, educate, and give direction to the data center industry.” According to the Paryavi, the industry needed a paradigm shift because in today’s world, “Everything we do today is shaped by the data
center industry.” The IDCA’s answer to this is the Infinity Paradigm®, which “outlines everything related to the data center and its infrastructure. Check our blog section for a more in-depth interview with IDCA. Mission Critical Magazine will be at the Critical Facilities Summit being held October 23-25, 2017 in Minneapolis. Watch for coverage. Finally, Mission Critical has a new look thanks to our new art director Anna Dorsey. Drop us a line at fritzc@bnpmedia.com and tell us what you think.
