Peter Moran, 73, the former publisher of Mission Critical Magazine, died May 24, 2017 in Westerly, RI.

Peter joined BNP Media, owner of Mission Critical and 50 more B2B magazines, in 1988 as eastern advertising manager. In 1992, he was promoted to publisher of Engineered Systems Magazine, a sister publication of Mission Critical. In 2000, Peter was named publisher of Energy User News after its acquisition by BNP Media. Mission Critical was created to highlight the growing data center industry after EUN was shuttered in 2008. Peter retired in August 2016 after 30 years in the business.

Peter is survived by his wife, Eileen (O'Neill) Moran; his three daughters, Kimberly Finn (Rob) of Larchmont, New York; Meredith Carre (Steve) of Darien, CT; and Courtney St. Clair (Duncan) of Mamaroneck, New York; and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Cecelia Moran.

He was interred at River Bend Cemetery in Westerly, RI.
