FNT Software has announced the release of FNT Command 10.3. Providing an integrated interface to FNT ServicePlanet, the company's software for product portfolio and service management, FNT Command 10.3 significantly improves process-oriented collaboration between teams of IT infrastructure and service managers.

The physical infrastructure is managed with configuration items (CIs) with FNT Command, while the product and service portfolio can be depicted in FNT ServicePlanet for contract data, workorders, and externally procured services.

The market-oriented alignment of service portfolios has long entered modern enterprises with ICT service management approach. The orientation towards the needs of internal and external customers is now regarded as the essential impulse generator in competition. Only IT departments that succeed in balancing customer satisfaction with their own technical capabilities, will be fast enough to react on market changes.

A major challenge is the link between the management of business services delivered to the IT infrastructure. Frequently, there is a lack of continuous visibility, which makes it more difficult for IT departments to handle issues such as multi-provider management, service billing, or order and contract management. FNT Command 10.3 addresses these challenges by closing the gap between IT infrastructure services and IT service management.

“IT departments are often perceived as a cost factor, but not as the key value driver that makes business-critical, digitized processes possible. With the new release of FNT Command 10.3, we provide a contribution to make the value of IT visible in the enterprise. In addition, we are closing the gap between providing IT infrastructure services and IT service management,” explains Nikolaus Albrecht, CEO of FNT.

Additionally, FNT Command 10.3 is appealing to new customers due to the new option of an integrated database. “Customers no longer have to close contracts with Oracle®, but can access a database provided by FNT. This gives them more flexibility in licensing and allows easier installation of the software by our experienced system administrators,” explains Bernd Pratschke, head of product management at FNT.

Further product developments are available with the current release of FNT Command 10.3 for the documentation of electricity grids, as well as graphical network documentation. The threshold calculations have also been optimized, with which users can utilize available capacity reserves.
