Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. will open its fourth Paris metro area data center at 16-18 Avenue de l'Europe in Vélizy. The 55,000-sq-ft facility strengthens the company’s data center footprint in Paris and is connected to Zayo’s dense fiber backbone in Paris, which spans more than 600 miles. The site’s unique location and ability to tether to zColo’s central Paris facility at 19/21 Rue Poissonnière creates a differentiated value proposition. In addition to continuing to house an existing base of customers, the site will be anchored by a recently signed contract from a cloud provider.

Zayo has experienced accelerating demand for data center and interconnection services in Paris from existing customers across North America and Europe, particularly cloud, content, service providers and traditional enterprise firms. Zayo also expects strong demand from the local Vélizy market, with its concentration of technology, content and research companies. There are no alternative data centers with comparable scale in the Vélizy area.

“We have long targeted Vélizy as an expansion opportunity for our zColo data center business. The quality and high power density of this facility are perfectly matched to the requirements of our customers with specific technical needs,” said Alastair Kane, managing director Europe at Zayo.

“Vélizy is known as a high-tech and retail corridor, with a growing need for communications infrastructure,” said TJ Karklins, senior vice president of Zayo’s zColo. “This expansion furthers our ability to serve the needs of our customers by combining colocation with high-scale fiber networks for both local and pan-European solutions.”
