ESD (Environmental Systems Design, Inc.), an international leader in the design of high-performance buildings, mission critical facilities, workplaces, and health, science and education environments, has promoted Tony Kempa to chief operating officer and Nathan Snydacker to chief of engineering.

During his six years at ESD, Kempa has served as director, vice president and senior vice president of marketing. In his role as COO, Mr. Kempa is responsible for providing the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the firm has the proper operational controls, human resources, financial and information technology systems in place to grow. He holds a master of business administration degree from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management as well as a bachelor of arts degree in mass communications from Western Illinois University.

Nathan Snydacker joined ESD in 1999 as a mechanical engineer and has served in the roles of project manager, technical authority, vice president and senior vice president. His project portfolio includes commercial interiors, data centers, airports and retail facilities. As chief of engineering, Snydacker is responsible for the leadership of the firm’s vertical markets and serves as a strategist, advisor, and decision maker who provides insight for strategic planning, business development activities and operating procedures/governance.
