QTS Now Offers AWS Direct Connect In Its Chicago Mega Data Center
Dedicated network connection to the comprehensive cloud platform further enhances QTS’ hybrid IT solutions.
In response to increasing enterprise demand for hybrid IT solutions, QTS Realty Trust has announced that Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect is now available at its Chicago data center. Yesterday, AWS announced the availability of the US East (Ohio) Region to customers looking to build businesses and run applications on infrastructure on the AWS Cloud.
By offering AWS Direct Connect, QTS can reduce customers’ data-transfer costs, further strengthen network security, and provide consistent network performance and scalable bandwidth. QTS Chicago customers will have a dedicated network connection to the AWS Direct Connect node. As a result, QTS Chicago provides redundant connectivity options, and can address enterprises’ data center, managed hosting and cloud connectivity needs and support services under one roof.
QTS continues to invest in its hybrid cloud portfolio by adding solutions supporting access to AWS and other cloud providers. Currently, QTS offers cloudConnect at each of its locations and gives customers the ability to have a private VLAN connection between any QTS data center and the nearest AWS Point of Presence (POP).
“QTS is focused on delivering the industry’s widest range of hybrid IT solutions,” said Dan Bennewitz, chief operations officer, sales and marketing, QTS. “In addition to developing a variety of our own purpose-built clouds and colocation solutions, our strategy includes providing connectivity on-ramps to the world’s largest cloud providers.”
The scale of QTS’ mega data centers gives it the ability to provide the world-class infrastructure required by hyperscale cloud providers. AWS Direct Connect creates hybrid IT opportunities for QTS’ expanding portfolio of scalable, secure, and compliant cloud solutions.
QTS recently completed transformation of the iconic Chicago Sun-Times facility into a mega data center, which now serves as QTS’ Midwest hub to deliver its fully integrated portfolio featuring customizable data center solutions, colocation, managed hosting, hybrid cloud and disaster recovery services for enterprise and government organizations.
