EPI has announced the global release of its EPI-DCOS® (EPI Data Centre Operations Standard®), the world’s first complete data centre operations and maintenance standard.
According to Edward van Leent, chairman & CEO of EPI Group of Companies, “Organisations delivering data centre services are commonly focused on building highly resilient facilities by designing redundancy at various levels typically in accordance with standards such as ANSI/TIA-942 and others. However, many have come to realise that without adequate processes and maintenance programmes, the data centre availability levels will be seriously impacted and erodes the investment made in the data centre facility. To address this gap, we initiated and led a committee to write a complete data centre operations and maintenance standard available now as the EPI-DCOS®.”
The draft standard was reviewed and endorsed by individuals working in data centre operations and maintenance from over 40 prestigious organisations across the world with different levels of complexity, sizes and different industries. “The feedback has been great and the EPI-DCOS® has been recognised as the only complete standard available in the market today. We simply couldn’t have asked for a better endorsement”, said Edward van Leent.
EPI-DCOS® provides a framework and guidance with great flexibility to adapt to the organization’s business needs and is designed to be very practical, focusing on tangible results. It has been written as a practical and auditable standard to which data centres can benchmark their own governance, operations and maintenance processes.
