OneNeck® IT Solutions announced the completion of their Tier 3 data center in Fitchburg, WI (just outside Madison). The $5.2 million project expands the data center another 9,000 sq ft, increasing the total available space in service to more than 50,000 sq ft.

According to the company, this OneNeck data center was built in July 2008. In addition to this expansion, which began last summer, the data center was also expanded in 2011.

“Data center space in this area is in high-demand, and our customers are filling the current space up,” says Hank Koch, vice president of Mission Critical Data Center facilities for OneNeck. “Completing this project within a time and budget window was critical so we could keep meeting the needs of our customers. And, we once more did so without impacting, and without risking, the availability of their highly critical IT equipment. Our distinguishing and elegantly clean reference architecture for OneNeck data centers continues to prove itself out: electrically, mechanically, climatologically, reliably, and securely.”

During construction, the internal infrastructure components were installed, including the electrical, climate and automation control systems.

Construction was done by Madison-area companies Tri-North Builders, Faith Technologies, North American Mechanical (NAMI) and Madison Gas & Electric. The facility continues to enable services that support common compliance requirements already secured by OneNeck, including Type 2 SSAE 16 (SOC 1) examination, ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification, PCI DSS validation, and HIPAA/HITECH examination.

According to Koch, the facility has one more 9,000-sq-ft shell that is ready to be built out.
