Infomart Data Centers has announced that it has been named a finalist by Capacity Magazine in the “Best Data Center category” of the 2015 Global Carriers Awards. The Company is recognized for the innovation, vision and excellence demonstrated across its state-of-the-art data center facilities in Portland, Silicon Valley and Ashburn, with an added focus on its latest developments at Infomart Dallas. Infomart Data Centers was selected by an independent panel of 20 judges, including leading analysts, industry experts and Capacity’s senior editorial team.
The annual Global Carrier Awards 2015 is the most prestigious awards ceremony dedicated exclusively to wholesale telecoms, bringing together the industry’s leading names to celebrate innovation and excellence. The ceremony and gala dinner are scheduled to take place November 3 in Paris, France, where 40 awards, including the “Best Data center” winner, will be announced.
The honor coincides with a host of improvements and industry certifications that Infomart Dallas has achieved in the last year to make the landmark property more attractive and secure to data center tenants. Following $40 million in facility upgrades, including adding additional power, more efficient cooling and other infrastructure improvements, Infomart also launched its own wholesale data center facility and Building Meet-Me Room (BMMR) in Infomart Dallas.
The Global Carrier Awards, which recognize data centers with superior connectivity offerings, found Infomart’s BMMR strategy to be worthy of a nomination. As the convergence of telecommunications and data centers continues, Infomart Data Centers is challenging the status quo of traditional wholesale data center providers by offering unique, additional interconnection options to tenants with no cross-connect fees. Infomart’s carrier-neutral Building Meet-Me Room is designed to facilitate interconnectivity within the carrier-neutral fiber hub, enabling connections between the more than 70 network carriers and all colocation customers within the building. With the advent of the BMMR inside the region’s most connected building, customers can cost-effectively optimize their network and access the fastest path to international and domestic network, content, cloud and Internet service providers.
“It is a great honor that Infomart Data Centers has been recognized as one of the leading data center providers in the world by the 2015 Global Carrier Awards,” states John Sheputis, president of Infomart Data Centers. “The significant improvements we’ve made to infrastructure and the recent certifications we’ve achieved demonstrate Infomart Data Centers’ ongoing commitment to continued innovation and customer service.”
Presently, Infomart Data Centers is working on plans for expanding capacity at Infomart Dallas, an Ashburn facility renovation, as well as a significant addition to its Portland data center. All of these facilities are SSAE 16, HIPAA / HITECH, and PCI DSS certified. Infomart Dallas is also in the process of securing The Uptime Institute Management & Operations (M&O) Stamp of Approval, a designation already received by Infomart Silicon Valley and Infomart Portland, which further validates its critical facilities management and operations practices.
