Infomart Data Centers has announced that its president, John Sheputis, will speak at the AFCOM Data Center World National Harbor 2015 Conference, taking place at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland September 20-23, 2015.

On Wednesday, September 23, Sheputis will lead the presentation “Challenging Industry Conventions to Simplify Design” as part of the conference’s Facilities Management track.  He will explore how Infomart Data Centers’ Dallas, Portland, Silicon Valley, and Ashburn facilities look beyond traditional industry practices to simplify design and reduce costs without compromising innovation or customer uptime.  Specifically, Sheputis will focus on the removal of raised flooring, designing for scale and change, enabling direct access to power, and the impact of implementing demand-based cooling mechanisms.  Since its inception, Infomart has experienced zero minutes of unplanned downtime through simplified, strategic data center design.

“In a heavily-protected industry in which downtime can be costly to both bottom-line and reputation, data center operators are hesitant to take design risks,” explains Sheputis.  “While understandable, this is also an immense hindrance to driving transformative change and innovation within the data center industry.  Being innovative and transparent underpins our design strategy and enhances our customers’ experience, while also contributing to the advancement of the industry as a whole.”

Data Center World is the premier international conference for data center and facilities managers, drawing upon the knowledge and experience of the more than 3,500 AFCOM members to create an end-user driven program that focuses on providing real solutions for today’s data center and facilities managers.
