Server Farm Realty Appoints Timothy M. Doherty As Chief Operating Officer
Industry veteran brings 20 years of data center operations and telecommunications experience to C-Suite role.
Server Farm Realty, LLC (SFR), has announced the appointment of Timothy M. Doherty to the position of chief operating officer. Doherty is a highly regarded veteran of the data center telecommunications industries, possessing 20 years of experience in data center operations and delivery of best-in-class customer solutions.
As COO of Server Farm Realty, Doherty will be accountable for advancing Server Farm Realty’s organization and processes in support of the company’s continued growth and development.
“Tim’s industry standing, operational leadership and exemplary track record ensuring all key service targets are exceeded in our national data centers were instrumental in the decision to appoint him chief operating officer,” said Avner Papouchado, president of Server Farm Realty. “Particularly given Server Farm Realty’s recently launched partnerships and our innovative approach to new data center design and development, Tim’s vision, senior executive experience and operational expertise will be invaluable assets in his new role.”
Prior to Server Farm Realty, Doherty served as managing director of Nobis Technology Group, LLC, a privately held parent holding company to approximately 12 specialized firms as well as a broad spectrum of websites. He was also the president and CEO of Fortress Colocation Centers, playing an instrumental role in the company’s merger with Digital Forest to create high density, carrier-neutral colocation services provider Digital Fortress, Inc. in February 2012. Following the merger, Doherty served as the organization’s chief operating officer and co-founder. Prior to Fortress, Doherty was COO and co-founder of CoreLink Data Centers, president and COO at Mzima, a colocation and optical network provider in North America and Europe, and Vice President at Peer 1 Hosting. He also served as the managing director of CRG West, where he oversaw the management of the Carlyle Group’s telecom assets, now known as CoreSite. Doherty began his career in telecoms as a sales director with Metropolitan Fiber Systems.
“Server Farm Realty’s dynamic positioning as a builder and designer of highly reliable, state-of-art data centers aligns with my own industry outlook and experience,” said Doherty. “I am honored and pleased by their confidence in me, and look forward to helping set an operational and technical standard of excellence that continues to define the Server Farm Realty mission.”
