The Green Grid and Siemens are pleased to announce that Siemens’ John Kovach has been named to the association's Board of Directors.
“We’re expanding and diversifying the board to align with our refined mission,” says Roger Tipley, president and chairman of The Green Grid. “Siemens’ expertise in sustainability, coupled with John’s solid knowledge of data centers, will help contribute to our members’ shared goals of driving effective and accountable resource efficiency across the rapidly changing information and communications technology (ICT) industry.”
As head of Siemens’ Global Data Center Solutions organization, Kovach is responsible for business development, application engineering, technology integration, strategy, marketing, solutions roadmap, and data center specific additions to Siemens’ global data center portfolio. Two years ago, he helped drive Siemens’ new data center infrastructure management (DCIM) solution. Next month, Kovach will assume leadership of Siemens’ newly formed Decentralized Energy Systems organization. He will continue to oversee the Data Centers group until a successor is named.
With 18 of his 20 years of experience at Siemens, Kovach has held previous positions in sales, sales management, channel marketing, and vertical markets. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Kovach holds a bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering.
“I’m honored to represent Siemens on The Green Grid’s board of directors,” says Kovach. “Although the board of director member companies span different parts of the ICT industry, we share a collective goal of driving holistic resource efficiency across IT, facility and infrastructure systems. Working together, we’ll continue to set strategic direction for this respected global organization.”
