EdgeConneX® Builds Remote MASS IX Node Into Its Boston Edge Data Center®
The partnership is designed to advance Internet connectivity in Boston.
EdgeConneX® has announced a partnership with the Massachusetts Internet Exchange (MASS IX), Boston’s premier cloud and Internet peering exchange, to build a new remote MASS IX node into its Boston Edge Data Center® (EDC), available in the fourth quarter of 2015. Located at 22 Linnell Circle, Billerica, Massachusetts, the expansion will be instrumental in the advancement of the local Internet community by ensuring dynamic content delivery to local-market consumers.
Offering a new diverse dark fiber path, EdgeConneX will provide secure connectivity between the MASS IX node inside its Boston EDC and the MASS IX core switches, located at 1 Summer Street and 70 Innerbelt Road in the downtown Boston area. This remote switch will enable EdgeConneX Boston area customers, including wireless carriers, service providers, CDNs and enterprises, to have direct access to MASS IX and several of its highest density network sites, joining an ecosystem that provides a one-stop shop for connectivity choices, including Internet peering, IP transit, Data Center Interconnect (DCI) and cloud solutions. Cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect and other Internet exchanges in national markets (e.g., New York and Washington, D.C. exchanges) are also available through MASS IX.
