The company will offer low-cost interconnection within the carrier-hotel.
Infomart Data Centers has announced the launch of a carrier-neutral Building Meet-Me Room (BMMR) inside its iconic Infomart Dallas data center, located at 1950 N. Stemmons Freeway in Dallas. Infomart will upend the traditional Meet-Me Room model by waiving monthly cross-connect fees in order to amplify interconnection within the carrier-hotel.
“Waiving the traditional cross-connect fee is a rare approach for a wholesale data center provider of Infomart’s size,” said Kelly Morgan, research director for North American Data Centers at 451 Research. “As the worlds of telecommunications and data centers continue to collide, data center operators are looking for unique ways to offer additional interconnection options to tenants. Managing the Building Meet-Me Room in one of the world’s most connected buildings as a low-cost amenity to customers is a disruptive approach by Infomart.”
