AMS-IX Bay Area Extends To Hurricane Electric’s Fremont 2 Data Center
Newest Point-of-Presence will allow customers of Hurricane Electric to improve performance and lower latency through fast and reliable peering services.
AMS-IX USA Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of AMS-IX (Amsterdam Internet Exchange), and Hurricane Electric have announced that AMS-IX Bay Area Internet Exchange has been extended to Hurricane Electric’s Fremont 2 data center.
Thanks to this new expansion, customers within the Fremont 2 facility are now able to connect to AMS-IX Bay Area and have the ability to exchange IP traffic, or “peer,” with all other parties that are present at this Internet exchange platform. By reducing the distance that traffic will have to travel, customers will also enjoy additional advantages of peering, including increased throughput, reduced latency and improved reliability.
