Webair and Telx® have announced Webair's entry into the Telx Cloud Xchange. The new partnership offers Telx's small, medium and enterprise customers direct access to Webair's customized, highly available and secure Private VMware-based Cloud solution. As part of the Telx Cloud Xchange, customers can also access Webair's Cloud-based Disaster Recovery via redundant dark fiber connectivity to its flagship NY1 facility on Long Island.

Webair's enterprise-grade Private Cloud is fully managed and custom-built, offering customers an affordable and agile solution to address business-specific IT security, scalability and performance needs. Webair is unique amongst Telx Cloud Xchange partners as it takes full ownership and responsibility of customers' infrastructure stacks, managing all aspects of virtualization, scalability, security, load balancing, and more so they can focus on their core business. Customers can now access Webair's Private Cloud and Disaster Recovery services in all Telx Points of Presence (PoPs) in the New York / New Jersey metro area, including 60 Hudson Street, NY (NYC1); 111 8th Avenue, NY (NYC2); 32 Avenue of the Americas, NY (NY3); 300 Boulevard E., Weehawken, NJ (NJR1); 100 Delawanna Ave., Building #1, Clifton, NJ (NJR2); and 100 Delawanna Ave., Building #2, Clifton, NJ (NJR3).

"As a Cloud Xchange partner, Webair is able to extend our fully managed Cloud services to hundreds of Telx's carrier, financial, and application, media, content, and SaaS provider customers located within its NY and NJ facilities," says Michael Christopher Orza, CEO of Webair. "Leveraging Telx's PoPs and secure cross connects, we also provide them with an added level of security for their Cloud, bypassing the public Internet and ensuring customers' Clouds are interconnected directly into their existing network infrastructure."

In addition to high-performance computing, scalability, security and a full range of disaster recovery options, Webair's Private Cloud enables customers to interconnect private cloud environments with bare metal and public cloud instances to take advantage of hybrid cloud capabilities. Private Cloud users can also access multiple SAN options, obtain dedicated connections to redundant Cloud Storage and scale from on-premise Clouds via VMware vCloud® Connector. Moreover, Telx's healthcare customers benefit from Webair Private Cloud's HIPAA-HITECH compliance.

"Telx Cloud Xchange allows Webair to expand their service offering while providing our customers with dedicated access to premium Cloud solutions," adds John Freimuth, general manager of Cloud and IT Services at Telx. "Webair's carrier-neutrality and commitment to ensuring maximum uptime, low latency and high performance of customer environments complements Telx's enterprise-grade, high availability infrastructure. A loyal Telx customer of over 12 years, we look forward to the continued expansion of our relationship with Webair."
