ESD’s (Environmental Systems Design, Inc.) Julie DeNardis, Nathan Snydacker, and Rick Szcodronski are among the 40 under 40 class of 2015 at Consulting Specifying Engineer (CSE) magazine.
CSE’s 40 under 40 award is given to 40 building industry professionals age 40 and younger who stand out in all aspects of their lives, particularly in the nonresidential building community. Candidates were nominated by a professional colleague and judged based on nine areas, including their commitment to excellence in their academic, professional, personal, and community involvement.
In 2009, Ms. DeNardis, vice president and mechanical engineer, relocated to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to open ESD’s first international office. As director of the Abu Dhabi office, she has led projects including the Sowwah Square office towers and Al Hilal Bank. Ms. DeNardis is a LEED Accredited Professional and was one of the first 250 engineers in the region to become an Estidama Pearl Qualified Professional. She received a bachelor of science degree from University of Michigan.
As senior vice president and practice leader for ESD’s Workplace Solutions Practice, Mr. Snydacker oversees all of the firm’s corporate interiors projects and leads a group of more than 40 project managers and engineers. His design and project management experience encompasses commercial interiors, data centers, airports, retail, education, and sports facilities. Throughout his career with ESD, Mr. Snydacker has played a key role in the development of commissioning services and the firm’s quality management program and design standards. He received a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from University of Wisconsin Madison.
Mr. Szcodronski is a senior associate in ESD’s Technology Consulting group. He designs building technology systems such as structured cabling, audio visual, and security, and is a practice leader in data and wireless networks, voice systems, and migration planning services. He recently transferred to California to help expand ESD’s West Coast presence and focus on the growing demand for smart building design and strategy services. Mr. Szcodronski received bachelor of science degrees in electrical and computer engineering, and environmental science from Duke University.
