The Open-IX Association (OIX) has announced its inaugural Americas Interconnection Summit, taking place April 7-9, 2015 at the Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego, CA. The three-day conference, supported in part by Founding Platinum Sponsors EdgeConneX and Netflix, is an unprecedented gathering of influential Internet community members that aims to connect industry participants interested in peering and interconnection.

The Americas Interconnection Summit will bring together service providers, content providers, and content delivery networks, data center and Internet exchange operators, and related network hardware and software suppliers to discuss current, relevant peering and interconnection industry trends and topics. Attendees will enjoy various networking opportunities through one-on-one and small group meetings, educational panels and presentations, and lunches and cocktail receptions. The event also provides an ideal forum for interacting with industry veterans and thought-leaders in an open and neutral environment.

“The Americas Interconnection Summit presents an opportunity for members of the peering and interconnection ecosystem to discuss strategic issues affecting the future of the industry, share executive insights and showcase innovative solutions,” says David Temkin, co-founder and chairman of Open-IX Association. “We’ve established an open and neutral environment for strategy and collaboration on how today’s Internet professionals can work together to improve the landscape of Internet peering and interconnect around the world.”

Open-IX Association is a non-profit association established to promote a simplified neutral and distributed Internet exchange system. Organized and operated by volunteers from the Internet, the Open-IX Association aims to increase the reliability, resiliency and competitiveness of massive-scale interconnection for all. With the help of broad participation of interconnect and data center professionals, the Association has successfully developed Internet Exchange and data center consensus-based community standards and has certified 22 data centers and two exchanges since its establishment in 2013.
